Then it was announced that Stephanie Beatriz ( Brooklyn Nine-Nine) will be playing a “badass car thief” named Quiet and that Thomas Hayden Church ( Spider-Man 3) will portray the villainous Agent Stone, a highway patrolman who “rules the roads with a silver tongue and a twisted iron fist.” On top of that, Scream star Neve Campbell will guest star as a character named Raven, who drove a decked-out hearse in the games.Īnd the news kept piling in today, as The A.V. We already knew that Anthony Mackie ( The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) would be headlining the show as John Doe, a sharp-witted milk man on a quest to reach New San Francisco. (We’d be willing to bet there will be another installment around the release of this show.)īut even if people doing their damnedest to slaughter each other in absurd cars doesn’t sound like a shoe-in for the Emmys, the cast of the new show is impressive. Twisted Metal is technically the longest running PlayStation-exclusive franchise, though it hasn’t seen a new title since 2012.
The games it’s based on are the equivalent of fighting games with cars players drive ridiculous vehicles decked out with rocket launchers, flame throwers, and so on while trying to destroy every other car in their vicinity. Of all the numerous video games that are being adapted for television right now, Peacock’s Twisted Metalshow might be the weirdest.
